Any such amendment, modification, addition, or deletion shall not be considered a violation of the relationship between the university and the student. Such right includes modification to academic requirements, curriculum, tuition, and/or fees when in the judgment of the administration such changes are required in the exercise of its educational responsibility. Student Relations General Nova Southeastern University has established specific policies, procedures, and guidelines defining its relationship with its students. The term "student" as used in this handbook defines the student, or parents of the student if the student qualifies as a dependent under the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. Institutional and Academic Information NSU and its composite academic units periodically publish bulletins or catalogs describing the university and its academic programs. These bulletins are available to enrolled and prospective students through the various admissions offices associated with the academic units or from the Office of the University registrar. Each academic unit, group of units, and/or the Office of the University registrar maintains at least one full-time employee to assist all students in obtaining information. All students admitted to NSU programs must be knowledgeable of, and abide by university policies and procedures. Also, branch libraries are located in the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Panama. Agreements have been signed with 19 academic libraries throughout the world to provide library support for NSU programs offered in specific geographical areas. The catalogs of all libraries are accessible to local and distance education students and faculty, wherever they may be located, via computers using the Electronic Library. Overall, the university's libraries house approximately 360,000 volumes and 1,3000,000 microfilm units. Online and CD-ROM databases complement the paper-based holdings and provide full-text resources. Interlibrary loan arrangements through networked organizations such as the Online computer Library Center (OCLC), the Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN), the Consortium of Southeastern Law Libraries (COSELL), and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) provide broad access to a wide range of materials.
