Nova Southeastern University | 7 Did You Know? Out of the more than 79 audiology programs in the United States, NSU’s Au.D. degree program is 1 of only 6 that is dually accredited by the Council on Academic Accredi- tation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE). State-of-the-Art Facilities on a Beautiful Campus Located on NSU’s beautiful campus in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area, our program has state-of-the-art equipment in a dedicated student lab facility. In addition, our comprehensive audiology clinic is equipped with the latest audiologic and vestibular diagnostic and treatment equipment. Diverse Clinical Opportunities In addition to our full-service, on-campus clinic, the program has affiliations with clinical training sites located throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Students spend three semesters in internships at various practice settings (including hospitals, private practices, public schools, nonprofit organizations, and medical facili- ties) to allow for diversity of clinical experience and population. Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) Interested in local, national, and international humanitarian and community service activities? Our local SAA chapter participates in health fairs, outreach with underserved migrant workers and their families, nursing home-based initiatives, and ongoing health care mission trips to name just a few. Students have traveled to countries such as Guatemala, Trinidad, British Virgin Islands, and Nicaragua to evaluate children and adults, fit them with hearing instruments, and provide teacher training workshops. Mission trips are ongoing.
