Admissions Pre-Arrival Guide - Fall 2020
FINALIZE YOUR ENROLLMENT AND PRE-ARRIVAL STEPS. If you’re living on campus , please complete all steps outlined below. These steps must be complete before you arrive in order to receive your key on move-in day. If you’re living off campus , please skip the Residential Life and Housing Pre-Arrival Checklist and start with the “Finalize Enrollment” section. These are crucial steps for anyone living on or off campus that must be complete before classes begin in order to receive your financial aid. If you’re not sure what applies to you, please contact your admission counselor. RESIDENTIAL LIFE AND HOUSING PRE-ARRIVAL CHECKLIST Please refer to your NSU email for the pre-arrival checklist from the Office of Residential Life and Housing. This includes submitting your immunization records, which can be found online at nova.edu/housing/forms/housing_immunizations.pdf . FINALIZE ENROLLMENT Finalizing enrollment means submitting final academic documentation. This step is crucial because your financial aid cannot be disbursed until these documents are submitted to NSU. This includes submitting any combination of these required final documents below: • Submitting final, official high school transcripts with your graduation date notated • Submitting official test scores if you were admitted using self-reported test scores • Submitting final, official college transcripts with all coursework completed if you completed dual enrollment courses through another college back home ESS CLEARANCE - FINALIZE YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT Enrollment Student Services (ESS) works with you on your financial aid and student account, and you must clear your balance before move-in and the start of class. It’s important to check with financial aid to ensure all your financial aid paperwork was submitted and that you work with financial aid and the bursar’s office to settle the first semester balance, either by setting up a payment plan or paying the first semester balance at once. Housing will not be able to provide the key to your room until the first semester bill is settled before or at move-in. Visit nova.edu/bursar/nextsteps to get started. STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE WAIVER All NSU students are required to carry adequate health insurance coverage. You have the choice to remain in a comparable, personal medical insurance plan or enroll in an NSU-provided comprehensive, nationwide policy. You will automatically be enrolled in an NSU Student Medical Insurance Plan unless you submit a waiver by September 1. Refer to page 8 of this guide for more in-depth information and read more about your options at nova.edu/bursar/health-insurance/index . 4
