ACCEPT, REDUCE, DECLINE FINANCIAL AID You must accept, reduce or decline your loan(s) and Federal Work-Study awards and fulfill all loan requirements before your loan proceeds can be credited to your student account. Loan acceptance process: If your award includes a Federal Direct Loan or Federal Work-Study, you must accept, reduce, or decline these funds via your SharkLink account. If you choose to accept your award, you have the option of reducing the original amount. Please read “Why Reduce My Loan?” at nova.edu/financialaid/debt-management/reduceloans . To access your financial aid award, please follow the step-by-step instructions below: 1. Log in to SharkLink using your SharkLink ID and Password at sharklink.nova.edu 2. Click on “My Financial Aid” on the left navigation and select “View Awards (WebSTAR)” 3. Select the “2020-2021 Financial Aid Year” from the drop-down menu and click “Submit” 4. Click on the “Award Overview” tab to review your award 5. Carefully review the “Terms and Conditions of Your Financial Aid Award Notice” 6. To accept, reduce, or decline all or a portion of your award(s), click on the “Accept Award Offer” tab FLORIDA MONIES FOR FLORIDA RESIDENTS Below is a list of State of Florida programs for undergraduates who have not yet earned their first bachelor’s degrees (and are not enrolled in a program in which they are considered to be graduate students). PROGRAM PROGRAM DETAILS ANNUAL AWARD LIMITS/DEADLINE DATES Effective Access to Student Education Grant (EASE) Not need-based Formerly known as FRAG • Requires completion of NSU State Aid Application and proof of one-year Florida residency • Must be enrolled for at least 12 degree-applicable credits (9 credits for nursing students) by the end of the first add/drop period of each semester • Must meet citizenship requirements $2,841 *as determined by the state of Florida Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) Need-based • Requires completion of FAFSA, NSU State Aid Application, and one-year Florida residency • Must be enrolled for at least 12 degree-applicable credits (9 credits for nursing students) by the end of the first add/drop period of each semester • Must meet citizenship requirements $2,000 limited funding awarded on first-come, first-served basis Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program: Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) • Awarded to Florida high school graduates who demonstrate high academic achievement • Must submit a completed Florida Financial Aid Application to the Florida Department of Education during last year in high school • Available to undergraduate students and to graduate students who are enrolled in a dual admission program or who qualify for one semester of eligibility • Must be enrolled at least half-time in degreeapplicable credits • Requires completion of NSU State Aid Application FAS: $211 per credit (also available for attendance in the summer semester), plus a $300 college-related expenses stipend for the fall and winter semesters FMS: $158 per credit Award amounts are based on legislative allocations and are subject to change.
