True to this name, several innova-
tion efforts are already underway.
Here’s a sneak peek at two of
them.
iTunes U
The most recent release of iTunes
U offers a whole new way of de-
signing and distributing courses,
complete with audio, video,
books, and a variety of multime-
dia content. Touted as “an entire
course in one app”, iTunes U will
allow faculty members to quickly
and easily design courses and
for students to seamlessly and
enjoyably consume them. And
guess what! Blackboard Learn
has a building block for iTunes U.
This means you can continue to
enjoy single sign-on access from
Blackboard!
Active Learning
Spaces
Ever wondered why we still have
computer labs when almost every
learner has a computing device
of their own (many a times, more
than one)? Well, we did too. So,
we’re evaluating these spaces
from a fresh perspective and are
wondering what the 21st century
learning space should look like.
We’ve just begun so, stay tuned.
There’s more to come!
Innovation in
the making
The Office of Information Technology has a new name!
We are now the Office of Innovation and Information
Technology or OI
2
T.
“This
one’s
radical!”
Going
Green
The average U.S. office worker goes through 10,000 sheets of
copy paper a year. Make it a habit to print on both sides or to use
the back side of old documents for faxes, scrap paper or drafts.
Also, consider recycling your toner and ink cartridges this could
approximately keep 2.5 pounds of metal and plastic out of our
landfills.
