Here at NSU, the OIIT Clinical Informatics team is crucial to delivering the best in patient care. Our organizational focus on quality is integral to the work being done in Informatics.
Clinical Informatics is now a well-recognized health care discipline where knowledge of application systems, information management, and clinical care intersect. Our team manages and supports various clinical systems, including electronic health records, imaging, practice operations, and dental systems. This work includes custom screen and template development as well as reporting and data mining.
The ongoing transformation of clinical information systems makes this an especially exciting time for advancements in patient safety, workflow efficiency and point-of-care decision support.
We are heavily invested in technological advancements that emphasize improvements in patient safety and quality. From electronic health, dental, and pharmacy systems, to cutting-edge systems designed to help protect patient privacy, we are always on the lookout for the next product, service, or established practice that will help our team assist the clinical staff at NSU become the leader in the care of our patients.
NSU is also a leader in efforts to standardize and automate access to electronic health records and supporting reference materials. In fact, teams involved in our Clinical Informatics Projects are simultaneously implementing a number of technologies for the betterment of quality care.
Our overall goal is for clinicians to spend less time on paperwork and more time on direct patient care. Continued innovation in our Informatics practice is what will make this possible.
