Sharkmedia in Canvas

Issue Date: 03-30-2018

Canvas SM

As the University transitions to the Canvas Learning Management System, the Office of Innovation and Information Technology wanted to advise you that SharkMedia will remain the in house media server for video content.

In Canvas you will have a Media Gallery with the same features that are available currently in Blackboard. Also you will be able to use the content editor to add SharkMedia videos in context wherever you can use the content editor. Meaning that you can easily add SharkMedia video on content pages, discussion boards, assignments, announcements and even quizzes.

The new SharkMedia feature of Interactive Video Quizzing is also available in Canvas. With Interactive Video Quizzing you can easily add questions to your SharkMedia video content. Those questions are auto-scored and the grades are automatically added into the Canvas gradebook.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will continue to share different and exciting aspects of the Canvas LMS, so stay tuned to this weekly message.
