Respondus LockDown Browser - Part 2

Issue Date: 04-07-2017

Respondus LockDown Browser is an important tool for preventing cheating on online exams, but it is not a total solution.   Respondus monitor allows more secure online exams. This tool is a fully automated solution that eliminates the need for live proctors. Students can take the exam at any time of the day or night, and instructors can review flagging and assessment data on their own schedule. The application uses a webcam and video technology to prevent cheating during online exams by recording student exam sessions. The system automatically flags students for suspicious behavior, such as leaving the computer during the exam, or a different person entering the video frame. This, along with other data, provides useful information to the instructor about the exam session.

Once LockDown Browser has been configured select “Require Respondus Monitor for this exam”.

Click the save and close button.

The menu also offers a series of options in order to create a startup sequence for the exam, for instance, the instructor can require students to show a photo ID, verify the entire environment before the exam starts, and include additional instructions.
