In this video "Getting Started with Web 2.0 and Social Media", Instructional Designers Kerrian Gordon and Joshua Farquharson introduce the concepts of Web 2.0, Cloud Computing, and Social Media, and demonstrate specific ways you can leverage these tools to enhance student engagement and success in your courses. Applicable ONLY to faculty that have NOT yet enrolled/registered or completed the Faculty Online Certification v2 course. To facilitate the enrollment process into the required Faculty Online Certification v2 course (FOCv2) all fulltime faculty and adjunct faculty will be automatically enrolled into the course. Faculty and adjunct faculty will be enrolled as students in the FOCv2 and receive a Faculty Certification Instructor Practice Course where they complete the required hands-on activities as an instructor.
Cohorts are available for those who wish to receive assistance or to interact in a classroom environment. To join a cohort please go to https://app.nova.edu/izonetraining/register.aspx and register for any session depending on your schedule. There are 5 units in the required Blackboard Training module.
Recordings for Unit 1 - 5 are available in the Faculty Online Certification v2 course and faculty can listen to the recordings for each unit and work along at their own pace.
