HCBE Summer Travel Study in Singapore

UNFORTUNATELY, THIS TRIP WILL NOT RUN IN MAY 2020 DUE TO INSUFFICIENT INTEREST.  WE HOPE TO OFFER A SIMILAR OPPORTUNITY IN DECEMBER 2020.  STAY TUNED TO THIS WEBSITE FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION!

Nova Southeastern University is partnering with Global Academic Ventures to offer NSU students the opportunity to travel as a group to Singapore to participate ten days of company visits and presentations by industry experts in the leading city for Asian Pacific headquarters for North American global corporations.

Singapore is ranked second as the best country for direct foreign investment and has expanded at an extraordinary rate since gaining independence.  It is labeled as the most open economy in the world (by the World Economic Forum), the most pro-business (by the World Bank), and the third-highest per-capita GDP in the world in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). In this context, students learn about the city's highly diverse makeup of languages, cultures, and norms.

Students will be introduced to the business and leadership challenges that organizations face when working in this part of the world.  However, students will also learn how Singapore and the neighboring regions present the world with exciting opportunities for the business, educational, and cultural sectors.  The city is well-positioned to continue to meaningfully impact the global economy and geopolitics in the foreseeable future.

"Business and Leadership in ASEAN" is perfect for students who would like to kickstart their understanding of the Southeast Asian region through 10 days of lectures, company visits, and presentations by industry experts.  Key deliverables expected from students will be a group project and final exam.  This course seeks to examine one's ability to apply knowledge, foster creative thinking and promote teamwork in group situations.
