Instructions and Guidelines

Guidelines for Poster Presenters

As soon as your abstract has been accepted: Please e-mail your college representative and confirm that you will present.

The size of your poster: The boards which will display your poster have a usable area of 68" wide and 44 1/2" tall. Your poster will be affixed to the board with pushpins. You do not need to supply your own pushpins. If your poster has already been mounted on a foam backing, you will need to have your poster reprinted.

When to put up and take down your poster: You can put your poster up after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20. It should be in place no later than 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 21. It can be taken down after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21. Any poster remaining on a board after 4:00 p.m. February 21 will be discarded.

Time for poster presentation: You will need to be by your poster from 12:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. on Friday, February 21.

Poster numbers: Your poster will be assigned a number, and the poster numbers will be affixed to the poster boards. The numbers will be grouped by college and then listed alphabetically by the first author's last name. It is important to put your poster on the correct board. Here is the list of poster numbers with the title of the presentation and the name of the first author.

Creating a digital copy of your poster: In addition to the paper copy of your poster, you will need to create a digital copy of your poster (such as a PowerPoint or PDF) that will be made available to room moderators on all NSU campuses for 2/21/2020. HPD is requiring the digital copies to conform to accreditation guidelines which state that students at the regional campuses must have an equivalent educational experience to students on the central campus. You may make a PowerPoint presentation (no more than five slides), or a single PowerPoint slide, or a single PowerPoint slide with voice-over narration (no more than 2-3 minutes), or a PDF. The preferred format is a single PowerPoint slide with voice-over narration.

Photos of poster presenters: NSU will have a professional photographer at REACH Day. All poster presenters must complete and sign a permission form to allow for photos/videos/poster presentations to be posted on the NSU website or for promotional or news releases. If the presenter has not yet obtained the age of 18, this form must also be completed by the presenter's parent or guardian.

Prizes for outstanding posters: Up to two posters from each college will be chosen to receive awards for outstanding poster presentation. Only students are eligible to receive the prizes. Judges will review the digital copy of your poster prior to REACH Day and decide on winners based upon the digital copies. A student's poster without the required signed permission form (see above) is not eligible to win any prize.

Deadlines: For students, the deadline for submitting the digital copy of their poster is 2/13/2020 at 11:59 p.m. For faculty, the deadline for submitting the digital copy of their poster is 2/17/2020 at 4:00 p.m. The deadline for the signed permission form is 2/13/2020 at 11:59 p.m. for both students and faculty. Please submit the digital copy of the poster and the signed permission form as separate files to kh449@nova.edu
