SharkMedia for Students

SharkMedia is a new tool for hosting and distributing media at NSU. This interface allows faculty, students, and staff to upload, view, share, and discuss audio and video. SharkMedia is a repository of your media, enabling your media to follow you from SharkMedia to anywhere else where Kaltura media is enabled.
Anyone can use SharkMedia. Media found in public galleries are available for viewing by any user. However only users with NSU Sharklink ID can log in to view NSU galleries, private channels, and upload their own media.

You will need the following information to successfully login to your SharkMedia Account:

Almost any common audio, video, or image file may be upload to SharkMedia. Below is a list of audio and video file types that you may upload.

Images in the following formats may also be uploaded: JPEG, PG, PNG, TIF, TIFF, GIF, and BMP.

To achieve the best results from your video upload, we recommend videos to upload be 1280x720 MP4s (using the H.264 codec) at a bit rate of 3000kbps (3Mbps).

Yes, you can upload and record media from your mobile device.

There is not a set number of files or storage space you are limited to in SharkMedia, but we ask that users keep your space file storage to 50GB per staff or faculty member or 5GB per student. If you are working on specific projects that might need more storage please request additional space by calling the Help Desk (954-262-4357).
