Sophia joined the Office of Career Development in August 2018, as the Career Peer Advisor. She is currently a student here at NSU planning to receive her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience. Sophia graduated high school May 2017 and also received the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) diploma through the international program at Cambridge University in England. Sophia has always challenged herself with advanced courses and has participated in many clubs and volunteer experiences. In 2017, Sophia represented her high school in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) regional competition, winning first place in the Extemporaneous Health Poster Competition. As a student at NSU, Sophia is actively engaged in a variety of experiences and volunteer opportunities. Some of her incredible experiences include Research, Psi Chi (President), The Clinical Exploration Program, Peer Leader, and Neuroscience Camp. As a Career Peer Advisor, Sophia essentially helps students with their Career Development related needs such as resumes, cover letters, job and internship searches, and more. Additionally, she helps the Office of Career Development by participating in and planning projects and she also advertises the services of Career Development. Sophia is excited to collaborate with students and help them succeed through the services offered here at Career Development. She enjoys helping students achieve and accomplish their goals while reaching their maximum potential. Born and raised in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Sophia enjoys art in her free time as well as writing, reading, spending time with her family, and the outdoors.
