Taalia joined the Office of Career Development in October 2017, as one of the inaugural Career Peer Advisors. She is currently a student here at NSU, planning to receive her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Experiential Leadership and Honors Transdisciplinary Studies. Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, she intends on attending dental school, as a part of the Dual Admission Program for which she serves as an ambassador. Taalia graduated high school in June 2017 with a Magna Cum Laude distinction.
As a student, Taalia strives to seize many opportunities NSU has to offer and excels both inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to being a student in the Farquhar Honors College, she is actively engaged on-campus and represents many organizations that include Razor’s Edge Leadership, International Muslim Student Association at NSU (IMAN), HOSA- Future Health Professionals, Volunteers Around the World, and South Asian Student Association (SASA). Her heavy involvement has allowed her to be recognized by nomination as Freshman Student Leader of the Year in 2018.
As a Career Peer Advisor, Taalia works with students of all backgrounds to reach their potential and professional goals. She is trained to assist with the various services that fall under the Office of Career Development from building resumes and cover letters to preparing for interviews and beyond. Being a full-time student herself, Taalia relates to the challenges students face daily and is able to project that understanding through helping students overcome them.
Taalia was raised and lives in Michigan, but has spent a significant portion of her life in Ontario, Canada as well. In her free time, you can find Taalia traveling, baking, watching Bollywood movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
