Assistant Director of Campus Life and Student Engagement

Vanessa Franco is the Assistant Director of Campus Life and Student Engagement. As part of this role, she oversees clubs and organizations and the Student Organization Resource Center. In addition, she also oversees student programming which includes the oversight of the Student Events and Activities Board (S.E.A. Board), Weeks of Welcome (WOW), Sharkapalooza, Homecoming, and Fin Fest. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida International Univeristy in Miami, FL and her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the Univervisty of Central Florida in Orlando, FL

Vanessa joined NSU in July 2017 after serving as the Special Events Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Involvement at the University of  Central Florida for two years. She co-advised two prominent student agencies on campus, Homecoming and Knight-Thon (UCF's Dance Marathon Program). She has a passion with working with student leaders in all areas - from campus activities, leadership development, fraternity and sorority life, orientation - but she also enjoys event management and large-scale event planning. She is also a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity, and works closely with the Pi Theta collegiate chapter at FIU. 

In her spare time, Vanessa likes to be outdoors by going to the beach, the pool, or even sporty adventures. She enjoys spending casual nights out with her friends and family and going salsa dancing is one of her favorite things to do!
