Juan is the Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement in the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement. He is responsible for the monthly Engagement Calendar, Homecoming Week, and overall representation of the office through campus. He also shares responsibilities over the Weeks of Welcome.
Juan was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and was raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated high school in Hialeah, Florida and then received his Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies at Florida International University (FIU). While at FIU, he was an active member of Zeta Beta Tau, an orientation leader, a Morale Captain, and a Peer Mentor. One of his favorite experiences in college was being able to fundraise over $100,000 for the kids in the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Juan is currently pursuing his M.S. in College Student Affairs here at NSU. He is passionate about helping students through their collegiate journey. After graduating, he plans to pursue a career working either orientation or campus life. In his free time, he enjoys dancing, and watching Disney Plus.
