2019 ExEL Conference Experiential Education and Learning Across the Disciplines
The purpose of the 2019 ExEL Conference, "Experiential Education and Learning Across the Disciplines," is to share what NSU students, staff, and faculty are doing related to experiential education and learning (ExEL) at NSU. We also hope to engage others who might not currently be involved in ExEL but have an interest in learning more. There will be a variety of presentations from faculty, staff, and students who are involved in experiential curricular and co-curricular undergraduate opportunities across the six ExEL pillars: experiential coursework, mentored research, community engagement, professional growth, travel exploration/study abroad, and leadership.
This is a half-day conference that will include continental breakfast and a general session, followed by concurrent sessions that focus on topics such as:

  • NSU student perspectives about experiential learning
  • How experiential learning is implemented in various disciplines (examples from psychology, engineering, chemistry, and others)
  • The ExEL co-curricular internship process
  • The what, why, and how of peer leadership
  • Career development and case competitions
  • Writing critical reflections
  • Four scalable models of experiential learning at NSU University School
  • How students are engaging in undergraduate research and its impact
  • How to design and ExEL course
  • Portfolium as the next generation resume
  • How to turn what you do in the classroom into a publication or conference presentation

Following the concurrent sessions, we will conclude with a closing general session and door prizes. We hope you will join us! Click HERE to register.

You should have received an email from Marti Snyder, Ph.D. ExEL Faculty Coordinator, indicating your assigned times and room number. If you have questions, please contact Marti at smithmt@nova.edu
