Super Sharks
Level One Super Sharks
This program is specifically for First Time in College (FTIC) students. The program was created to assist FTIC students adjust to University life and its inherent challenges. All FTIC students are invited to participate in Level 1 upon admission to NSU.
Students who participate in Level 1 of the Super Sharks Program must fulfill the following requirements:
- Attend one Super Sharks Orientation session
- Attend five Tools for Success workshops
- Meet one time with a designated Success Coach
- Attend one Financial Aid workshop
- Meet one time with your Academic Advisor
- Complete an Academic Success Plan
- Complete a Super Sharks Survey (will be emailed to you late in the semester)
- Maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.0
Upon completion, students will be awarded a $250 book credit to the NSU Bookstore.

Level Two Super Sharks
Level Two Super Sharks focuses on the essential relationship between student and faculty. Each student is paired with a faculty mentor who is invested in helping her/him succeed academically while nurturing personal growth and development. This program is designed to increase academic success and engagement with the university community by providing supportive resources. Students who complete Super Sharks Level One are eligible to participate in Level Two.
Students who participate in Level Two must fulfill the following requirements:
- Attend the Super Sharks Level Two Orientation/Social
- Meet once with Level One Success Coach
- Attend one Critical Thinking Skills workshop
- Meet three times with assigned Faculty Mentor
- Complete a Super Sharks survey (sent to your NSU email)
- Complete an Academic Success Plan
- Achieve a 2.0 semester and cumulative GPA

Level Three Super Sharks
Level Three Super Sharks will have the opportunity to engage with leaders from the NSU community by attending a series of interactive workshops. Each workshop is geared toward helping students identify, formulate, and apply their personal definition of leadership to their everyday lives. Students who complete Super Sharks Levels One and Two are eligible to participate in Level Three.
Students who participate in Level Three must fulfill the following requirements:
- Attend the Super Sharks Level Three Orientation
- Attend three Leadership workshops
- Attend one Reflection workshop
- Attend one Success Coaching Session
- Complete an Academic Success Plan
- Complete a Super Sharks survey
- Achieve a 2.0 semester and cumulative GPA

Level Four Super Sharks
Level Four Super Sharks will have the opportunity to apply the leadership qualities and styles learned in Level Three. Each workshop is geared toward assisting students develop three major leadership skills: team-building, vision, and risk-taking and incorporating each into their everyday lives. Students who complete Super Sharks Levels One, Two, and Three are eligible to participate in Level Four.
Students who participate in Level Four must fulfill the following requirements:
- Attend one Super Sharks Level IV Orientation
- Attend three Leadership Skills workshops
- Attend one Reflection workshop
- Attend one Success Coaching Session
- Complete a Academic Success Plan
- Complete a Super Sharks survey
- Achieve a 2.0 semester and cumulative GPA
