When is WebCT available?

WebCT is available twenty four (24) hours each day.

Why do I get an error when I attempt to login and my login information is correct?

The security settings on your browser may be set too high. To login to
WebCT your browser settings must allow for cookies to be accepted. Check
your cookie setting on the browser configuration page

How do I remove courses I have completed from my WebCT?

To remove a course from your my WebCT course listing you will need to click on edit my WebCT course listing under Institutional Bookmark. Then select Edit My Course Listing and choose the course you wish to remove. Please note once you have removed a course you will no longer have access to it. Why does my class not show up in myWebCT?

This may occur for the following reasons:

1) You may not have registered for your online class. To do so you will need to use WebSTAR (Online Registration if permitted by your program) or contact your academic program office registration advisor.
2) You are registered and the class is not available. This will require the Online Computing Help Desk to update your course area.

*(If you have recently made changes to your registration please allow twenty-four (24) hours for the system to update.)

How do I upload my assignment to the assignment dropbox?

1)Go to the link on the left side of your navigation bar and select assignment dropbox.

2)Then select the available assignment that will have the link available under the title.

3)Once you have selected the assignment you will be taken into the drop box area, you will then need to use the browse function to locate the file you saved, then select "upload" and the file will be uploaded to the server.

4)The file you uploaded will be shown in this area, you will then have to select it and submit the file by clicking on "submit assignment".

Why does my file not attach when I use the assignment dropbox, the
discussion board and the email component?

The problem may be resulting from your use of a router with your internet
connection. The configuration of the router has been known to cause such a
conflict. Please check your router configuration and test the upload
without using the router by connecting directly to your internet service
providers modem. If you require further assistance please contact the

Why do I get an error when I try to upload a file in the assignment dropbox?

An error is a result of the filename. Check your filename and ensure there are no spaces in the name and no strange characters i.e..(#,&).

What is the difference between Student Presentations and Student Homepages?

The Student Presentations area allows you to upload files to the server which will allow you to create a more comprehensive web page or allow your instructor access to files they wanted you to upload. The Student Homepages allows you to create a very limited web page using the tools available within this area.

My chat won't work.

This could be the result of a variety of problems. The most immediate is possibly that of your browser settings which will need to be configured to enable these settings to work. It is also possible that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may have settings enabled that may prevent your having full access to the system. Contact your ISP to check if there is a problem that they can resolve.

Why is there only a WebCT practice quiz when I log into my class?

This is a requirement of some programs. It is necessary that you first take the quiz associated with this class before your other icons will become available. This is necessary as there are conditions set in the class that require you to complete this assignment first.

Why does an evaluation link keep popping up in my course?

This is a requirement of some programs. This window will continue to pop up until you take the required evaluation. This is your in class assessment tool.

What is the difference between Discussions and E-mail ?

The difference lies in the accessibility. For discussions any messages posted here will be viewable by all members of the class. For the e-mail the messages are private going only to the members you have selected.

Can I remove a Discussion posting?

All postings on the discussion board are permanent postings, you will not be able to remove these postings once placed.

Why I am not able to access my online class?

If you are having difficulty accessing your online class you will need to check your browser settings, which may include your having to disable any pop up blockers that you are currently using.

Does WebCT support Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7?

Microsoft Windows Vista is compatible using Internet Explorer 7.  Based on limited testing, Blackboard has noted the following issues that affect users with designer access.
 
CR120880: Users are unable to access files using WebDAV. After correctly configuring the Web folder, selecting a file to open, and entering the password, the user receives a File Not Found error message. Blackboard is working with Microsoft to resolve this issue.

CR121352: Users are unable to upload audio/video files when creating content for a section.
