To enhance students' personal and professional development through personalized comprehensive services that support their NSU experience leading to successful degree completion, the College of Undergraduate Studies (COUS) and Division of Student Affairs (DOSA) have employed GradesFirst, a new student management system aimed at streamlining efforts towards increasing retention and degree completion.
GradesFirst is a new web-based student performance monitoring system which allows faculty, staff, and administration to efficiently manage students’ files and refer students to the appropriate services. Undergraduate students will have the ability to use the system to schedule appointments, receive text reminders, view their course schedules and email various offices for academic and student support assistance. GradesFirst functionalities provide COUS, Division of Student Affairs (DOSA), and the Athletic Department with the following benefits:
GradesFirst will be implemented in two phases. First phase is complete, and the Athletic Department, Office of Undergraduate Student Success, Undergraduate Academic Advising Center (UAAC), Career Development, Tutoring and Testing, and Student Communication Support and they will begin to use the system on August 31, 2015
The second phase will consist of other DOSA and/or COUS offices.
Various departments use GradesFirst email system to confirm a scheduled appointment or to notify you of resources beneficial to you as a student.

GradesFirst is a retention tool designed for faculty, staff and undergraduate students to enhance the use of academic and support services. Through the use of GradesFirst’s progress report feature, faculty can identify and refer students who are experiencing difficulties that may negatively impact their academic performance. GradesFirst allows students to benefit from the ease of scheduling appointments with various academic and support offices.
At specific points during each semester, undergraduate faculty will receive an email from the Office of Undergraduate Student Success and/or Athletics Academic Department titled Student Feedback Request. The email invites faculty, for a period of one week, to review their student course roster in order to provide feedback on student performance in the form of a progress report. A progress report allow faculty to identify students as being academically at-risk by selecting alert reasons and submitting supporting comments.
Progress reports will be reviewed and outreach will be provided by the following student support services:

The "updated password" link on GradesFirst does not work due to the SSO system NSU uses.
