Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dean Deanna Voss has been living in South Florida since 1990. Ms. Voss earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Baldwin-Wallace College and her Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Miami. Dean Voss' favorite view of the NSU campus is right outside her window, watching students, faculty, and staff as everyone moves around campus and the lake throughout the day. Craig is from Long Island, New York but has spent the last 30+ years in South Florida.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University at Albany, State University of New York. “I believe in the wealth of opportunities that Nova Southeastern University provides to our students.  Whether you are attracted to NSU for its academics, athletics, clubs and organizations, or scholarships, you will find a multitude of possibilities that will help you succeed not only in the classroom, but in your career and beyond.” Craig’s favorite tradition at NSU is Sharkapalooza, a memorable welcome-home event that serves as a networking opportunity where you can meet the members of all the clubs and organizations at NSU. Sharkapalooza also features music, performances, great prizes, activity booths, and great food. Craig serves as support to the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, providing data, insight, and historical context to new emerging strategies.

Matt loves going to the beach.  He is currently spending his first year in South Florida enjoying the warm weather and enjoying his move from the cold weather of Massachusetts.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. Matt believes that NSU provides the students an innovative learning environment with intimate class sizes enabling students to develop a personal relationship with the faculty and staff.

“Whether it’s volunteering for a Habitat for Humanity service trip or enrolling in a Study Abroad program.  I encourage students to challenge themselves to go outside of their comfort zone.  It’s important that students take advantage of the unique experiential learning opportunities we provide at Nova Southeastern. We expect to see our students taking advantage of Internships, Civic Engagement opportunities, and Faculty-mentored Research projects.”

Juliene holds a B.S. degree in Marketing with a minor in International Business from Nova Southeastern University. Juliene completed a Study Abroad Program in International Business in Scuola Lorenzo de Medici, Italy, and holds a Master’s degree in International Business Administration from NSU. Her favorite NSU tradition is an event called “Sharkapalooza.” This event is at the beginning of the fall semester, when NSU's clubs and organizations introduce themselves to students.  New students get to know each other while playing games, eating yummy food, and dancing to the beat.  As a proud alumna, her mission is to provide incoming students with the same experience of diverse opportunities that she had. A transformative experience for Juliene was her travel study program in Florence, Italy. She was able to expand her horizon through the eyes of other cultures by understanding their ways of learning the aspects of business.

Daryl earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, as well as a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from NSU. Daryl's favorite tradition at NSU are events sponsored by Student Activities. Daryl feel strongly that NSU is a great place to be grounded in real-world research and academic experience.  As an alumnus of NSU, he has realized his potential. NSU prepared Daryl to anticipate the challenges of graduate school and the workforce.  NSU’s approach to education fosters students and propels students to carry out their own research designs and studies.  Students are also encouraged to become participants in psychological studies. An education at NSU is truly one of a kind. Beyond the classroom, NSU's Career Development prepared Daryl for career success.  In Daryl’s own words “NSU has inspired me to be driven for success, to live a life with integrity and with an open mind for life-long learning”.  Daryl conducts monthly visits at Broward College and is eager to assist students in their transition to NSU.

Born and raised in rural Missouri, Bradley relocated to Fort Lauderdale after working in higher education marketing in Columbia and Kansas City, Missouri. He earned his B.A. in Communication from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and started his MBA soon after. He moved to Florida to get away from snowy winters, to be closer to the amusement park capital of the world and the year-round sunny weather. Bradley loves traveling, roller coasters and trying out new restaurants.

Bradley thinks NSU is an incredible school, especially for anyone looking for exceptional academics. “You won’t find many schools with small class-sizes where ALL professors have the highest credentials in their field. Add the perks of tickets to Miami Dolphin home games, cutting-edge research opportunities and resort-like facilities on campus, and you’re going to feel right at home at Nova.”

Michelle Betts is originally from Waukesha, WI and attended Carroll University where she received a B.S degree in Psychology. She relocated to Florida to obtain her M.S. in College Student Affairs at Nova Southeastern University, and was previously the Graduate Assistant for Admissions where she supervised the Admissions Ambassadors. Her favorite part of NSU is that there are over 100 student clubs and organizations to get involved in. “Joining those organizations sets you apart from other students! With a powerful student government, socially active Greek life with many fraternities and sororities, and intramural sports.  In addition, there are numerous pre-professional societies where students can begin networking, traveling on specific study aboard opportunities, and partnering with the Career Development office to obtain meaningful internships.  Nova Southeastern University is a perfect place to learn, grow and excel.”

Ryan is originally from Bronx, New York. When he is not in the office you will find him coaching his youth travel baseball team. Ryan was born to be an NSU Shark and says “At NSU every week is SHARK WEEK.” Ryan completed his Bachelor's degree in Biology at NSU in 2014. Ryan’s advice to Future Sharks is “Take advantage of the opportunities to get involved on campus. The opportunities here do not compare to anywhere else. At NSU you can do what you want to do and be who you want to be.”

Lindsay is originally from Rhode Island and recently moved to South Florida to enjoy the warm weather and vibrant community. Lindsay received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Religious Studies from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts’s. While attending Stonehill, she enjoyed working with incoming students through her role as a student admission ambassador. She recently received her Master’s Degree in Education, with a focus in school counseling, from Providence College while working as a Graduate Assistant in the Center for Orientation, Transitions, and Leadership.

Lindsay is excited about the different opportunities that are available to NSU students both in and out of the classroom. “One of my favorite things about NSU is that it allows students to take part in Faculty-Led Travel Study. This opportunity allows students to travel locally, nationally, and internationally with professors and fellow students to experience a broad range of academic and cultural activities while expanding their knowledge.”

Crysta is a South Florida native fluent in Spanish She earned dual bachelor degrees from Florida International University in English Literature and Women and Gender Studies and her Master’s in Higher Education Administration from the University of Miami.  “My favorite part about NSU is that our location offers students experiential learning opportunities that few other institutions can. Being in South Florida allows our students to gain unique and hands-on experiences outside the classroom - from research in the Everglades or on the beach, to an internship opportunity in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, or even at one of our amazing NSU clinics. At NSU, the opportunities are endless.”

Ryan is from Torrance, California and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.  After moving to South Florida, he received his Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of Miami.  What he likes most about Nova Southeastern University is how the small class sizes allow students to build a relationship with their professors.  “With an average of 15 students per class, you really have time to make that personal connection.  Your professors can get to know your interests and can recommend steps that will help advance your education and career.”

Alexandra is originally from Germany but grew up in France, and has spent the last eight years in Boston before moving to South Florida. She came to the United States to study at UMass Amherst, where she received a B.S. in Biology and later, a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. She is very happy to join the friendly and dynamic Nova Southeastern admissions team in sunny Florida. Alex loves traveling around the world and telling students and their families about the amazing Dual Admissions options and the Razor’s Edge scholarship programs at NSU.

Abi was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Orlando, Florida. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Art at Florida International University (FIU), where she became very involved on campus with Greek Life as well as Housing and Residence Life. She recently earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at FIU while working as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Graduate and International Admissions. She enjoys working with diverse student populations and assisting students in achieving a higher education. A fun fact about Abi is that she loves bacon, I mean really loves it, she has even run a bacon themed 5k.

Abi’s favorite part about NSU is its focus and attentiveness towards the individual student experience. Students coming to NSU are not just an ID number or face in the crowd. They become a member of the NSU family. Their future and development is just as important to the student as it is to the university.

Clyde Lewis is originally from the twin island nation of Trinidad and Tobago and has been living in South Florida since 1997.  He is currently working on a Doctoral degree in Education at Nova Southeastern University.  His education also includes an M.S. in Human Resource Management from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining the world of higher education, Clyde held roles as an advocate for the elderly, chaired an international charity organization, and worked as a human resources manager.
Clyde’s take on what makes NSU unique is the attention paid to detail in designing the academic curriculum. Input is often solicited from employers with the intent of producing graduates who meet their professional expectations.Clyde conducts monthly visits at Miami Dade College and is eager to assist you on your path to the joining the NSU experience.

Rose is a South Florida native fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. She received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Florida in Spanish & Portuguese and a Master’s degree from Boston University in International Affairs. Prior to joining NSU, Rose advocated for underserved communities for health care access, studied abroad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and interned with the WHO in Geneva, Switzerland.

Rose loves NSU’s commitment to foster intentional and impact-focused research initiatives and community service outreach projects. One of the excellent opportunities Rose recommends potential students to attend is Shark Preview weekend where students are able interview for one of our Premier programs and building lasting relationships with faculty, staff and fellow sharks.

Ebony received a B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Florida State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration at NSU. Ebony enjoys the arts and culture displayed at NSU. “Nova Southeastern University takes center stage when it comes to supporting the arts. Whether you just want to sit and enjoy the cultural arts or be part of the show, NSU has several options for nurturing your creative spirit. We’ve also established many innovative programs and community partnerships, including the NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale, providing a new dimension to our arts curriculum and bringing the best visual arts exhibits and educational programs to the community.” Her message for prospective NSU students is to take advantage of the true meaning of small size classes taught by field-experienced professors. “Get to know the professors and try to get involved in their research or the internship opportunities they may provide”.

Michael took advantage of the small class size in order to excel in all his coursework, often meeting with faculty mentors outside of class time to ensure his success. His message to prospective NSU students from out-of-state? “Fort Lauderdale is a great place to live, play, and earn your degree. There is something for everyone! You can enjoy the Miami nightlife, ride bikes at local parks, fish in the Florida Everglades, or just relax at the beach.”

Originally from Northeast Pennsylvania, Liza left the snow behind in search of the great outdoors in South Florida, especially the endless amount of waterways where she enjoys kayaking, camping and fishing.  She spends a lot of time on the beautiful 314 acre NSU campus, while cheering on the athletic teams - especially the 2016 National Champion Baseball team.  Liza earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania and a Master's degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution with a Graduate Certificate in College Student Personnel from NSU.  Why does Liza love it so much at NSU?  "No matter what area of study you plan on majoring in, there is something at Nova Southeastern University where real world experience is occurring and the greater community is benefiting from it."  Just look at Liza's three-year-old daughter, who is a student at the Mailman Family Center preschool and getting special instruction from the Speech Language and Pathology undergraduate and graduate students on campus.

Ellen loves the cultural diversity in South Florida, where you can sample ethnic food and hear a multitude of languages spoken daily.  After growing up on Long Island in New York, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Public Health degree from Tulane University.  Ellen is currently pursuing a Master of Information Systems degree at NSU.

Dr. Denver Stickrod usually gets asked two questions after he introduces himself: "Is that your real name?" and "Have you ever been to Denver, Colorado?" The answer to both questions is, “Yes!” He holds a B.S. Degree in Marketing and worked as a graduate assistant in the Registrar's Office while finishing his M.B.A. at Illinois State University. He completed a Doctoral Degree, Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership at Nova Southeastern University.

 “Being from the Midwest, I love counseling my students and watching them transform as they traverse through their educational journey at Nova Southeastern University. This institution truly is a special place to call home, plus the weather isn’t too bad for my Midwest students!”
