Pharmacy Dual Admission Program

Dual Admission – Pharmacy

Bachelor's Degree and Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Bachelor's Degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy Degree

The doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is either a six-year combined, seven-year combined, or eight-year combined program.

The six-year combined program allows students to complete two years of a prescribed course of study in any undergraduate major. Students are awarded a bachelor's degree after successful completion of the second year of education in the College of Pharmacy.

The seven-year combined program allows students to complete three years of a prescribed course of study in any undergraduate major. Students are awarded a bachelor's degree after successful completion of the first year of education in the College of Pharmacy.

The eight-year combined program requires students to complete four years of a prescribed course of study in any undergraduate major with minimum of 120 credits. Students will receive the Pharm.D. degree after completion of four years of study in the Pharm.D. program.

The doctor of philosophy in pharmacy (Ph.D.) is an eight-year combined program that requires students to complete four years of a prescribed course of study in any undergraduate major with minimum of 120 credits.

GPA 3.5 weighted
ACT/SAT 29 composite ACT (no less than 27 on the math section) or 1360 total SAT(no less then 620 on the math section). For SAT attempts prior to March 2016, a total score of 1300 is acceptable.

Calculation of cumulative and science GPA for the purpose of program eligibility for dual admission will not reflect the "grade forgiveness/repeated courses" policy, all grades for retaken courses will be included.

Please be advised that a student's initial course placement in mathematics, science or composition may impact the timing of the completion of all dual admission prerequisites and major courses, and could result in the need to take summer courses.

Final determination of admission into the professional program is at the discretion of the receiving college.
