Student Media and Information

The Office of Student Media and Information oversees NSU's student-run media operations, Student Poster Printing Services, and marketing/communications for the Division of Student Affairs.

The student-run media operations include:

  • The Current: NSU's weekly campus newspaper
  • WNSU, a.k.a. Radio X: NSU's FM radio station, broadcasting to a tri-county area
  • Sharks United Television, a.k.a. SUTV: the campus television station, broadcasting to NSU residence halls

Student Poster Printing Services: This service is available to provide NSU students and faculty members with complimentary wide-formatted posters for academic uses upon requests with quota limit. For more information about this service, and how to request your complimentary posters, click here.

The marketing/communications area of the office sets the standards for print, online and on-air marketing and communications for the Division of Student Affairs to provide quality, consistency and value in conveying what Student Affairs represents. The office also produces online media including the e-newsletter, SharkFINS, reaching about 27,000 NSU students each week.

Started in August 1990 as a cable-based station broadcasting solely to students residing on campus, Radio X is now a unique non-commercial, student-managed radio station that broadcasts live beginning at 6 p.m., to the tri-county area on 88.5 FM WKPX Sunrise. You can also stream it online 24/7.

SharkFINS is NSU's electronic student newsletter that is distributed weekly and primarily provides a brief synopsis of campus information, news announcements, and events and activities targeted to NSU students.

Sharks United Television is the newest student-run media outlet at NSU. SUTV is a useful tool to unite the campus community, highlight campus life and provide students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working in a fun environment.
