Event Details: The Christian Coalition for Domestic Abuse is facilitating a workshop on spousal abuse and teen dating violence. The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required to tmorrow@nova.edu.

Monday January 21st

Martin Luther King Jr. March/Rally at Dillard High School with Pan-African Student Association (PASA)
Time: 8:30am

Event Details: NSU students are invited to participate in the ‘March for Dignity’ which will begin at Martin Luther King Elementary and end at Dillard High School with the ‘Rally for Dignity.’ Vans will depart from NSU’s main campus. Please contact dperrin@nova.edu for more information!

Tuesday January 22nd

Program Name: Take Back the Night: “See.Hear.Speak”
Time: 7pm
Location: Commons North Lawn

Event Details: An annual NSU event dedicated to raising awareness about sexual assault and violence, while creating a supportive environment for expression and empowerment with a speak-out and candle light vigil.

Program Name: Clothesline Project
Time: 7pm (In conjunction with Take Back the Night)
Location: Commons North Lawn

Event Details: The Clothesline Project is a visual display of shirts with graphic messages and illustrations designed by survivors of violence and their loved ones. The Project serves as a vital means of conveying the enormity of the problem of violence against women.

Program Name: Demand Stand
Time: ALL DAY
Location: NSU Main Campus

Event Details: The Demand Stand represents statistics affiliated with domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or rape. Each participant wears a purple shirt throughout the day as a visual representation of the respective statistics. All of the participants are encouraged to attend Take Back the Night.

Program Name: Shoe Drive
Time: 7pm (In conjunction with Take Back the Night)
Location: Commons North Lawn

Event Details: The Shoe Project represents statewide statistics affiliated with domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or rape. Each pair of shoes donated by our NSU community is used as a visual representation for the victims of domestic violence. The shoes collected will be donated to a local charity after Take Back the Night.

Program Name: NSU Hunger Banquet

Event Details: What’s on your plate? Forty percent of the people on our planet– more than 2.5 billion– live in poverty, struggling to survive on less than $2 a day. In every nation on earth, people go to sleep hungry even though our planet produces enough food to feed every woman, man, and child. Feast or famine – it's the luck of the draw. Food will be provided.

Event Details: Co- sponsored by IMAN, Hillel, Catholic Life, Spiritual Life Council and IVCF. Together these organizations will present various foods and the stories/religious traditions centered around them. Bring your appetite and an open heart!
