Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life Council

The Spiritual Life Council includes students and staff who are interested in raising spiritual awareness on campus. Council members come from different faith backgrounds, and some have no religious affiliation. What unites them is a desire to increase reflection within the NSU community on topics such as purpose, meaning, identity, and character. Spiritual Life Council goals include sponsoring programs that infuse the topic of spirituality throughout the university, maintaining the Spiritual Life Lounge, and organizing an Interfaith Prayer Breakfast to launch the new school year. The Council also helps coordinate the Interfaith Dialogues event during Unity Week and the Last Lecture Series, where selected faculty members share what they believe is most meaningful in life.

Our Core Values

The following values guide all that we do:

  • Foster mutual learning and mutual respect by sharing information within the Council about our individual spiritual beliefs and experiences and by sponsoring interfaith activities on campus.
