Description: A speaker from the League of Women Voters in Broward County explains how elections are run in the state of Florida.

Constitution Day 2009

Location: Don Taft University Center

Time: 10:00 - 3:00 pm
Description: This event is a collaboration between the Office of Dean of Student Affairs, Law School and step iT up to engage the NSU campus. During this event participants will gain the opportunity to expand their knowledge on the various articles and amendments found in The United States Constitution; thus becoming empowered to become positive American citizens.
Purpose: On Sept. 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed and course of history was changed. Now Constitution Day is a time for us to continue their legacy and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.

'step iT up' and Vote Rally

Description: The aim of this rally is to excite the NSU community to vote on January 29 at the Florida Presidential Primary.

Step to the Polls

Location: various
Date: January 29, 2008
Description: Shuttles will be available at various times to provide transportation to local polls for the Presidential Primary. Times of departure for Nova Southeastern University will be announced in the near future.

Dr. Brenda Snipes advocating change

Location: The Flight Deck - University Center
Description: Keynote speaker Dr. Brenda Snipes, Broward County Supervisor of Elections followed by a panel discussion.

Hate Crime Discussion

Location: The Flight Deck - University Center
Date: April 2007 – 5:30 pm
Description: Gather to watch Hate Crime Movie, educate yourself on hate crime statistics and how to effect change through action.
