Allison serves as the director for the office of Student Leadership & Civic Engagement and oversees the Razor's Edge Leadership Scholarship Program. Within the office, she provides general oversight and focuses on the leadership programming, working closely with the graduate assistants in this area. Allison oversees all aspects of the Razor's Edge program.

Originally from Palm Harbor, Florida, Allison joined the NSU team in June 2011 from her role at her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity, Inc. She remains actively involved with her sorority and within the fraternal community. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Stetson University and her Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut.

Camilo provides oversight for the Civic Engagement/Service program within the office. Camilo is active within the South Florida Regional Campus Compact and works with the SLCE staff to oversee and build the service trip program, local service events on and off-campus, as well as build relationships across campus and across Florida to offer and strengthen the service program at NSU.

Camilo is originally from Colombia, South America. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality from The Florida State University School of Business and a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University.                  

Graduate Assistants

Cassie D. Cathcart

Cassie Cathcart is one of the Graduate Assistants for the Razor’s Edge leadership program. Cassie’s role is to provide mentorship and advising to students in the program on a day to day basis. In addition to this she is responsible for the planning of all major Razor’s Edge events, including the annual fall retreats, monthly conclaves and leadership symposium.

While at NSU, Cassie will be pursuing a Master’s of Science in College Student Affairs. Cassie graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Wildlife Conservation Biology and Applied Vertebrate Ecology. While at HSU, Cassie had the opportunity to become a proud sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., and organization with which she remains actively involved. Other involvement and leadership positions included her role as President for the HSU Unified Greek Council, Greek representative to the Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention Committee, and member of the Student Engagement and Leadership Committee.

Originally from Durango Colorado, she enjoys every opportunity to be outdoors and experience the exotic wildlife Florida has to offer. She is also excited to experience living in her first city for the next two years. 

Peter Melnik

Photo: Peter MelnikPeter Melnik is a Graduate Assistant for the Razor’s Edge Leadership Scholarship Program. His main responsibility is to improve and aid in the recruitment, selection, and management of Razor’s Edge students as well as supporting current Razor’s Edge students.

While at NSU, Peter will be pursuing his Master of Science in College Student Affairs. He is a recent graduate of Central Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management, and minors in Leadership and Philosophy. While at CMU he was highly involved in campus life including; chairing the Homecoming Committee, Facilitating Leadership Camp, and working with CMU's Leadership Safari program. Peter is originally from Pinckney, Michigan and is an avid Detroit Red Wings fan.

Dani McCalla

Dani McCalla is the Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership Development in the Office of Student Leadership Civic Engagement. She oversees the Emerging Leaders Experience (ELE). Leadership on demand (LOD), is the advisor for ODK a leadership honor society and oversees leadership coaching.

Hailing from the vibrant city of Kingston, Jamaica, Dani completed her undergraduate studies here at NSU and understands the unique culture that is NSU. She studied Communications with a focus in Public Relations. During her tenure as an undergrad Dani served as Community Program Director for Radio X, Entertainment Chair for SEA Board, and Vice President for the Caribbean Student Association.

While she values all the great experiences her most memorable was and impromptu duet with Vanilla Ice singing “Ice Ice Baby”. When not in her office you can find her soaking up some sun at the beach, whipping & doing the nae nae on the dance floor and cheering on the Jamaican athletic team. Dani lives her life based on the words of the wisest man she knows, Winnie the Pooh, who says “You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” 

Liz Mazorowicz

Liz Mazorowicz is the Graduate Assistant for Civic Engagement. As a part of her role she will oversee Sharks and Service (SAS) Trips, involving a weekend or a week long break dedicated to participating in issue based service, Days of Service, as well as Weeks of Service. She will work to bring attention to the many ways that students can use their interests and passions to positively affect a community through service.  

At NSU, Liz will be pursuing her Master of Science in College Student Affairs. She is a recent graduate of Central Michigan University where she earned her degree in Communication with a minor in Leadership. While at CMU Liz was involved in many Student Life initiatives including Alternative Breaks, facilitating Leadership Camp, working with the Leadership Safari program, and working with mentoring programs in the community. Liz is originally from Plymouth, Michigan and is very enthusiastic about baseball, specifically the Detroit Tigers.

Steffi Schoeder

Steffi Schoeder is the Graduate Assistant for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement. As part of her role, she oversees the planning of the NSU Volunteer Fairs, the Winter Leadership Conference, and the Leadership Awards.

While at NSU, Steffi will be pursuing her Master of Science in College Student Affairs.  She is a recent graduate of University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she received her Bachelor of Arts in History, minors in Education and Political Science and also obtained a broad field social studies degree with a concentration in Psychology.  While at UW-Green Bay, Steffi was very involved in Residence Life.  She was an RA and served many different roles in the National Residence Hall Honorary Phoenix Flame Chapter including: President, Wisconsin Honorary of Involved Leaders Communications Coordinator, and serving as the Conference Chair for the 2014 Wisconsin Honorary of Involved Leaders Conference.    

Steffi is originally from Janesville, WI and is a die-hard Packer fan.  Because of living in the “frozen tundra” for her undergraduate, she is looking forward to not having snow in the winter, but also doesn’t quite know what to do without it.
