NSU Exploration Week

Exploration Week
The purpose of NSU Exploration Week is to afford students an opportunity to "get to know" the NSU main campus by familiarizing themselves with the location of the various student service offices. Operating as a passport/stamp system, students may start at any student services office, pick up a passport, then travel to the different student service offices, obtaining a stamp at each location. For every designated office visited, the student will receive a stamp. Each stamp is worth one ticket (max. 18 tickets) in the drawing.

The student must be present at SHARKAPALOOZA in order to be entered into the drawing and win the prizes.

SHARKAPALOOZA is a combination of two campus traditions: Got Wood? and Exploration Week. Exploration Week takes place during the first week of school, where students are given passports and the opportunity to receive stamps for visiting different locations on campus. Got Wood? is a large event that brings clubs and organizations together to inform the students and give them opportunities to get involved on campus. At the passport party, students turned in their passports and received raffle tickets for every stamp that they collected. With the raffle tickets, students were eligible to win gift certificates, electronics, and a grand prize. The 2006 grand prize was a free year-long lease of a Honda Civic, a Acura RSX, or a Hyundai Tiburon. The grand prize winner was Kimberly Vardeman, who chose the Honda Civic.
