Our Mission
The mission of the Office of Student Engagement is to purposefully and strategically create, develop, and implement programs and services that engage and connect all students to the NSU community.
As an office within the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Student Engagement & Special Events is responsible for providing overall direction and support for division-wide student development initiatives and special events that are strategically and purposefully designed to link students to the University. Additionally, the Director of Student Engagement works directly with the Dean of Student Affairs on all major divisional research and program initiatives.
The Office of Student Engagement & Special Events hosts a number of special events throughout the academic year. Some of these events include Life 101…Personally Speaking, the Student Life Achievement Awards, NSU Exploration Week, Homecoming, and the Annual Valentine Charity Auction. The Office of Student Engagement also works closely within the Division to co-sponsor some additional university-wide events such as Hollywood Squares, NSU Idol, Leader Meet & Greet, and the Student Leader Luncheons.
Student Affairs at the Student Educational Centers (SEC) serves to foster student success and a university community regardless of the location of the student. Students are exposed to a wide variety of events and activities, including Family Fin Day and Class Celebrations, and are encouraged to get involved in their Student Government Associations.
The Office of Student Engagement also coordinates all divisional participation in admission events and activities, such as Interview Days, Campus Visit Days, and Open Houses. Furthermore, Student Engagement supervises all vendor sponsorships, divisional marketing, and divisional research.
The Office of Student Engagement and Special Events also works closely with the clubs and organizations at NSU in order to effectively manage their financial accounts.
Located in Room 106 of the Athletics and Student Affairs (ASA) building, the Office of Student Engagements operating hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
