About the Flight Deck
The Flight Deck is located on the 1st Floor at the North Entrance of the Don Taft University Center. The Flight Deck includes a serving bar with a beer and wine license, several televisions with DirecTV®, two pool tables, various magazines, board and video games, and seating areas. The Flight Deck is a popular place on campus for students to meet, greet, and grab a snack.
The Flight Deck is the host to a variety of weekly activities, student events, and happy hours. Included is the Flight Deck Friday's, which features drink specials, free food, as well as live music.
The Flight Deck is always the best place on campus to grab a drink with your friends after class!
The History
"The Flight Deck" name originates from the fact that the land now occupied by NSU used to be the site of a Navy air base during World War II where aircrafts used to practice taking off and landing on the short "Flight Deck" of US Naval carriers. It is also hard to miss the fact that NSU is directly under the flight path for Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
