Candidate nominations are now closed.

  • Candidate nominations were only accepted online.
  • Undergraduate students may nominate themselves or other undergraduate students.
  • Nominations should include a statement explaining, "I am NSU because" (as it applies to the nominee) and I have done the following for NSU are required with each nomination.
  • Photos will be taken by the Office of Student Activities on October 18 & 19, 2011, from Noon to1 p.m. in UC 1235.
  • All nominations will be reviewed prior to candidate selection. The top three male and top three female nominations for each class will be selected as the Homecoming Candidates.
  • All nominated candidates will receive an email confirmation prior to becoming an official candidate.
  • The Homecoming Review Committee reserves the right to edit all materials and photographs submitted by each candidate.
  • In the event of a tie, candidates will be drawn at random.
  • All senior nominees must complete an in-person interview with the selection committee.
  • Upon nomination, seniors will be contacted by the Homecoming Review Committee to schedule an interview.
  • Senior candidates will be selected based on nominations and interviews.
Interviews will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011, from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in Rosenthal Student Center. Rooms will be assigned at the time the interview is scheduled.

To promote sportsmanship, each senior candidate will draw a question at random.

Each interview will last between 10 to 15 minutes.

If the interview date and time conflicts with your academic schedule, special considerations may be made.

On-campus campaigning will begin Thursday, October 27, 2011 and run through Thursday, November 3, 2011 until 1:00 pm.


NOTE: Any campaigning outside of the aforementioned dates will result in the disqualification of the candidate(s).

All candidates will receive a Homecoming Candidate sash available for pick up beginning at 10:00 am in the Office of Student Activities, Don Taft University Center, room 1235 on Thursday, October 27, 2011.

Undergraduate students may cast their votes via email link beginning Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 9:00 am through Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Each student will be allowed one vote per category. There are eight categories: Freshman Princess, Freshman Prince, Sophomore Princess, Sophomore Prince, Junior Princess, Junior Prince, (Senior) Homecoming Queen, and (Senior) Homecoming King.

  • Homecoming Court royalty will be announced at the Homecoming Bash on Thursday, November 3, 2011.
  • Homecoming King and Queen will be awarded to seniors only. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, who win in their respective categories, will receive Prince and Princess titles.
  • Homecoming Candidate will receive one complimentary Homecoming Bash ticket.
  • Homecoming Court participants are required to attend the Tailgate, Flight Deck Follies, SEA Thursday, and the Homecoming Bash. NOTE: Given class obligations, candidates are not required to stay for the duration of the event(s).
  • Photographs will be taken of all Homecoming Court members after coronation.
