- Valuing Qualitative Research: Diversity and Debate in Alternative &
Complementary Health - Call for Poster Abstracts
The main objective
of this event is to consider the value of qualitative research as it
applies to alternative and complementary health. The conference has been
designed to encourage critical discussion of keynote speakers and
delegates research. We are also keen for delegates to see the conference
as a space where they can reflect on their own work in relation to keynote
presentations and the work of others. We hope you will return to the field
inspired and more aware of the potential contribution of qualitative
research to investigating CAM. The conference will be held at the

- The 21st Ethnographic and Qualitative Research Conference - Call
for Papers
We invite research projects among a broad spectrum of
topics. Employment of traditional ethnographic and qualitative research
projects provides the common thread for conference papers. Proposals will
be peer-reviewed among three strands: Results of qualitative and
ethnographic research studies, qualitative research methods, and
pedagogical issues in qualitative research. Formats include oral
presentations and poster sessions. The oral presentations will be in
20-minute segments, with the university providing PowerPoint, overhead
projectors, and/or other multi-media facilities for presenters. The poster
presentations will be in 30-minute segments with the university providing
posters for presenting summaries of the research projects. The conference

Proposals
The Midwest Qualitative Research Conference, held June
25-26, 2009 at the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA,
showcases scholarly investigations that use qualitative methodologies to
understand all aspects of human experience. This vibrant urban two-day
conference located in downtown Minneapolis attracts practitioners,
scholars and graduate students from throughout the Midwest and across the
country. Topics range from ethnography to phenomenology, with discussions
taking place in an open atmosphere examining the challenges and rewards of

- The 5th International Conference on e-Social Science - Call for
Papers
The conference will be held 24 - 26 June 2009 at
Maternushaus, Cologne, Germany. The aim of the annual international
conference on e-Social Science is to bring together leading
representatives of the social science, e-Infrastructure,
cyberinfrastructure and e-Research communities in order to improve mutual
awareness and promote coordinated activities to accelerate research,
development and deployment of powerful, new methods and tools for the
social sciences and beyond. We invite contributions from members of the
social science, e-Infrastructure, cyberinfrastructure and e-Research
communities with experience of, or interests in exploring, developing, and
applying new methods, practices, and tools afforded by new infrastructure
technologies - such as the Grid and Web 2.0, in order to further social
science research; and studying issues impacting on the wider take-up of

- The Sixth Biennial Conference of the International Society of
Critical Health Psychology: Critical Thinking in Health Psychology
The University of Lausanne and the International Society of Critical
Health Psychology host the conference for the first time in a non
English-speaking area. It will take place at the Dorigny Campus from July
8th to the 11th , 2009. Switzerland is a multilingual country and the
seat of several International Organizations interested in health issues.
Thus, this country represents an appropriate place for international
exchange and dialogue among disciplines and cultures. The aim of this
Sixth International Conference of Critical Health Psychology is to promote
dialogue between interdisciplinary researchers and practitioners coming
from different theoretical and cultural backgrounds, whether they belong
to Anglo-Saxon or European and/or French-speaking approaches. The
conference is focussed on critical issues in health psychology, but
participation is not limited to health psychologists - we welcome
