Abstract

The poem developed from collective stories of women who have shared their experiences, challenges, and actions of being scholars, professors, graduate students, business owners, and/or parents, among a multitude of other roles that often inconvenienced those who had particular views of what women are supposed to be and do.

Audra Skukauskaite is a Professor of doctoral studies at the Dreeben School of Education at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. Her primary teaching focus is qualitative research methodology. Her research, publications, and teaching interests include epistemology and transparency in ethnographic and qualitative research, transcribing and qualitative interviewing, discourse-based research approaches, ethnographic analyses of text and video records, as well as doctoral student learning of research.
