The Mission of the Office of Special Events & Projects is to ensure that Nova Southeastern University is represented in a professional and proper manner. We are responsible for planning, coordinating and producing events hosted by the President’s office. We are available to assist the various colleges, schools and centers with the initial planning of any events or activities that they are hosting or coordinating. Our goal is to serve the campus community at Nova Southeastern University by implementing standards and procedures that need to be met whenever the University is hosting or attending an event. With that in mind, we have created a "Special Events & Projects Information Packet" to be used as a resource and reference when planning a university event and/or a community event. The packet is available upon request.
A university event is one that is being held on the NSU Campus or at a scheduled site and arrangements are made through the various departments at the university. A community event is one that members of NSU administration, faculty, and/or staff will be attending representing the university, and is generally held off campus. The university will normally purchase seats or tables at such events, along with an ad to be placed in the event’s ad journal. Inside the packet you will find general information regarding the planning of both types of events. Information such as helpful phone numbers, contact people and checklists, as well as very detailed and specific information regarding the presidential package, the president’s preferences, and flag protocol.
The Office of Special Events & Projects has compiled information on conference rooms, dining facilities and outdoor areas on all campus sites that can be scheduled for special events. These locations are available on a reservation basis; arrangements must be made with a school, college, or center’s contact person. A vendor resource library is also available to assist with promotional items/honoring gifts, florists, and decorations. Please utilize the Office of Special Events & Projects as a vital resource for you and your event needs.
We thank you for your continued commitment to NSU and we look forward to working with you in the future.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Ramos
Director, Special Events & Projects
