Mandatory Health Insurance Information

Charges, Coverage Periods, and Deadlines

To protect the health and well-being of the NSU community, NSU requires all students to maintain medical health insurance coverage. Therefore, when you register for classes, you will automatically be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan, and your student account will be charged accordingly. Log into NSU eBill  to monitor your student account. The United States Healthcare System does not provide universal coverage. Medical Services rendered come with financial risks. Please review why health insurance is important

The NSU Student Health Insurance Department will send continuous emails to your @mynsu.nova.edu account to notify you of this charge, and provide waiver information.

United Healthcare Student Resources

Students are automatically enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus student health insurance plan. For more plan details, visit the United Healthcare Student Health Insurance website at uhcsr.com/novaIt is highly encouraged that you utilize NSU’s Student Insurance Plan and review United Healthcare’s self-help tools.

Insurance ID cards will not be mailed. You may access your ID card by creating an account via the UHC mobile app (App Store | Google Play).

Insurance Waiver Application

If you have health insurance that meets the waiver criteria, you may opt-out of the NSU Student Health Insurance Plan. In order to opt-out you must submit an online waiver application by your program's waiver deadline.

A waiver is valid for one academic year, not calendar year, and is only available online.
