Equipment

The focused ultrasonicator is designed for Next generation Sequencing applications. Adaptive Focused Acoustics controls the shearing forces for supreme DNA/RNA extraction while fragmenting nucleic acids to the selected size. Equipped with SonoLab software, real time monitoring and integrated quality control is displayed.

The industry standard for quantifying and qualifying DNA, RNA, and protein samples, obtaining accurate absorbance measurements for even highly concentrated samples with no need for dilutions. Within 2% accuracy with a continuous spectrum from 190-850 nm for measuring a variety of samples types.
Measures a wide variety of fluorescence assays to verify selective concentrations of DNA, RNA, and protein. All NanoDrops perform with an input of only 1-2 µL with accurate results in seconds.
Directly measures the fluorescence of samples, using as little as 1 μL of input. Accurate measurements because the dyes used in these assays emit signals only when bound to specific target molecules, even at low concentrations, thus minimizing the effects of contaminants including degraded DNA or RNA. The instrument features advanced optics and data analysis algorithms which performs calculations and settings automatically.

Provides automated electrophoretic processing, for quick and reliable sample quality control within any Next Generation Sequencing, microarray or quantitative PCR workflow. With sensitive detection and zero carryover with reliable results in 1-2 minutes.

DNA sizing and quantification ranges 35 bp to 60 kbp and 5 pg/µL to 100 ng/µL, and RNA sizing and quantification ranges 100 to 6000 nt and 100 pg/µL to 500 ng/µL. Can provide both DNA Integrity Number (DIN) and RNA Integrity Number equivalent (RINe) for integrity assessment.

Roche LightCycler 480A high-performance, high throughput real time PCR platform that provides various methods for gene detection, gene expression analysis, genetic variation analysis, and array data validation. The LightCycler 480 is considered to be the most powerful, sensitive, and quantitative assay for the detection of RNA levels. It is frequently used in the expression analysis of single or multiple genes, and expression patterns for identifying infections and diseases. A robotically controlled, automated plate-based quantitative PCR device that supports  a wide range of probe formats. Highly sensitive and reproducible results for qualitative and quantitative detection of nucleic acids through real time PCR, which can be combined with RT-PCR for a seamless flow of quantification while producing cDNA libraries.
NanoStringThe Nanostring system is a powerful variation of the microarray used to analyze expression levels of multiple samples and hundreds of gene targets simultaneously in a single tube. It is highly sensitive and does not require amplification of target molecules. The system can directly assay tissue extracts and whole blood lysates, total RNA, cell lysates, as well as Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) extracts. Multiplexing up to 800 of targets and multiple samples of unique transcripts in one hybridization reaction. Each color coded barcode is attached to a single target specific probe corresponding to a gene of interest. Specializing in the development of cancer diagnostics tools, NanoString received a CE-mark designation for selling the Prosigna Breast Cancer Prognostic Gene Signature Assay (PAM50-based breast cancer test) in Israel and EU in September 2012, and in September 2013, NanoString received FDA 510(k) clearance for Prosigna.

Illumina NextSeq 500 SequencerThe industry leading Illumina Next Generation Sequencing platform, the NextSeq 550 has the perfect combination of high throughput sequencing, flexibility, and its highly accurate Sequence By Synthesis chemistry with no homopolymer issues. Its sample to results workflow enables rapid sequencing of exomes, whole genomes, transcriptomes, and gene expression while supporting TruSeq and Nextera libraries. With the highest output of any desktop sequencer, the NextSeq 500 enables researchers to perform the widest range of sequencing applications with as many as 800 million paired end reads. By leveraging microarray scanning on the NextSeq 550, researchers have immediate access to a powerful and complementary technology for supplementary research. Real Time Analysis (RTA) integrated software performs on instrument data analysis, which includes image analysis and base calling. The NextSeq 550 integrates cluster generation and sequencing into a single instrument while offering a smooth transition for onsite or cloud-based data analysis.
