Williams is a South Florida native, the middle of eight siblings. Parents heavily involved in the community. Father a pastor and entrepreneur and mother retired school teacher, local business owner and volunteer for the Broward County Supervisors of Elections office. Williams attended public and private schools for her primary schooling. Her secondary education was obtained at Nova High School, later she attended Nova Southeastern University where she received two bachelor degrees. Williams received a bachelors degree in communication and she is the first African-American to receive a theatre degree at the university. She also received a minor degree in media studies. She also attended ministerial school where she was licensed and ordained. Williams is currently pursuing her graduate degree in interdisciplinary arts at NSU.

Williams is extremely socially conscious and it is evident in her previous work. The award-winning student film director discusses her work in a interview with the Farquhar Forum"My passion is to use film, television, stage, and radio to present issues in ways that entertain and provoke thought." As the writer, director and producer of the award winning short film Easy to Love Williams explores a couple's fears about getting tested for HIV. "I wanted to do something thought-provoking for HIV Awareness Month, an informative and entertaining presentation about things we think about daily but don't discuss enough."

In Campus Exposed Williams continues to present issues in ways that entertain and provoke thought. Three friends Kaitlin, Stacey and Mark embark on the social and cultural journey of higher education. The text addresses current controversial social issues such as alcoholism, race, privacy and eating disorders to name a few. Williams creates three main characters from diverse backgrounds. They share many common interests and transparently confront their different ideals. Campus Exposed is sure to keep you on the edge of seat.
