The Quality of Life Council would like to thank Mary Partin and The Dan Marino Foundation for their generous 10,000 dollar support in the area of scholarly research. This money will fund research which addresses the issue of Workforce Training, specifically post secondary transitioning for young adults with developmental disabilities. This will create a sixth category for the 2009 QOL competition, “Autism,” in addition to the existing 5 categories: Children’s Issues, Elderly Services, Foster Care, Criminal Justice, & Adult/General.

2008-2009 Quality of Life Faculty Community-Based Applied Research Grant Annual Award Winners
The 2008-2009 President’s Faculty Research and Development Grant and Quality of Life Faculty Community-Based Applied Research Grant Annual Awards Reception was a great success and the QOL Council wishes to congratulate this year’s award winners. We had a record number of submissions this year which reflects not only NSU’s interest in research advancement but to the university’s increasing dedication to community service. A special “thank you” goes to our reviewers, as well as to our “Outstanding Community Partner of the Year” Henderson Mental Health Center.
