Jeremy Katzman has extensive health care, higher education, and research communications experience. He is the primary spokesperson and communications officer for the NSU College of Allopathic Medicine and is leading the creation of a comprehensive communications plan designed to support the college’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. He is also involved in facilities and strategic planning for the college and chairs the NSU Research Visibility Campaign.
Prior to holding this position, Katzman was an associate director of public affairs for NSU. His duties included providing public relations and marketing support for the Health Professions Division, which consists of eight colleges (allopathic medicine, dental medicine, health care sciences, medical sciences, nursing, optometry, osteopathic medicine and pharmacy), along with NSU’s Division of Translational Research and Economic Development and biotech areas.
Katzman has 13 years of strategic integrated marketing and communications experience. Prior to joining NSU, he served as associate director of public relations and e-philanthropy for Miami Children's Hospital Foundation. His primary focus was to manage and enhance the foundation's brand and message by serving as the primary media contact, spokesperson and copywriter and also managing the organization's website and social media presence. He previously served as an account executive at O'Connell & Goldberg Public Relations, where he provided expertise to clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare, non-profit, hospitality and sports. He also worked in the marketing department at MEDNAX (Pediatrix Medical Group).
Katzman served as 2015 president and is currently a board member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Greater Fort Lauderdale Chapter. He represented the Chapter as a 2015 Delegate at PRSA’s Leadership Assembly and has served as a judge for the Bronze Anvil Awards. He is a graduate of Leadership Broward Class XXXIV, a premier leadership development program designed for adults who currently hold leadership positions and are involved in their community. He is a long-time volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and previously served as chair of its Young Adult Board, which provides a forum for young adults going through cancer to interact with survivors.
Katzman is accredited in public relations (APR) by the Universal Accreditation Board. He earned his M.B.A. from Nova Southeastern University and holds a B.A. in public relations and a B.S. in political science from the University of Florida (UF). He is a member of the UF Hall of Fame and was on the Bateman Team for the UF College of Journalism and Communications.
