We are a student-run organization dedicated to the health and well being of children. Throughout the year, we host educational seminars, lectures, health fairs, medical screenings, and other community out-reach programs
aimed at significantly imparting on the lives of children within
the South Florida community. Our activities are open to all members
of NSU and we are always committed to establishing positive
long-lasting relationships with the local public and medical community.
Furthermore, NSU's "Peds" Club serves as a valuable resource for healthcare students interested in pediatric medicine. Our club offers information and links to many pediatric mentorships, rotations, residencies, and specialties. Similarly, we invite many physicians and other pediatric healthcare professionals to lecture on their careers, practices, research and organizations. For many students, the Peds Club provides a great introduction to fulfilling careers as pediatricians and other pediatric healthcare professionals.
While our club is primarily hosted by the College of Osteopathic Medicine, we do welcome and encourage active participation from all of
NSU's health profession schools. In addition to medical students,
membership is also extended
to students in the Dentistry, Optometry, Nursing,
Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy,
Psychology,
Audiology, Sonography, Anesthesiologist Assistant and Public Health
programs. We believe that contributions and cooperation across
all healthcare disciplines paves the way for achievable, complete
pediatric healthcare from birth into adulthood.
