PA students participate in a wide variety of volunteer opportunities throughout their time in the program. One of the greatest opportunities is participating in NSU's annual Florida Rural Medical Mission. This mission targets an underserved population in Belle Glade and the surrounding rural Glades communities.

Students throughout the Health Professions Division (HPD) are involved in an interdisciplinary service-learning experience. The services included are: screening physicals for children and adults, Osteopathic manipulative therapy, and various screenings such as diabetes, cholesterol, body mass index, blood pressure, mammography, bone density, eye and dental exams, gross and fine motor exams, and mental status screening.

Other opportunities include medical outreach trips to Guatemala and participating in numerous health fairs throughout South Florida.
