Troy Elmstrom, MPH, PA-C
After leaving military service, Mr. Elmstrom attended Nova Southeastern University, graduating in 2000. While at Nova Southeastern University he graduated with Honors, received the Dean's Award and obtained a Bachelor degree in Physician Assistant studies and a Master degree in Public Health. Upon graduating, Mr. Elmstrom began work as a Physician Assistant in Internal Medicine with Dr. Juan Acosta at Memorial Regional Hospital. Having obtained a solid medicine background he then spent the next three years working Emergency Medicine for Memorial Regional Hospital. In 2004, Mr. Elmstrom realized his passion in medicine was cardiology and subsequently joined Dr. Howard Berlin's cardiology group, spending five years enjoying cardiac medicine in a very busy practice. Mr. Elmstrom joined the PA faculty at Nova Southeastern University in June 2009. He is the course director for Fundamentals of Radiology and has lectures in Physical Diagnosis, Health Prevention and Clinical Medicine courses. Mr. Elmstrom serves on several committees and is the Academic Testing Chair. |
Professor Elmstrom is a prior military Hospital Corpsman, entering into the Navy in 1988. He received a scholarship through the Navy and proceeded to obtain an AS degree in Biomedical Engineering. Mr. Elmstrom finished his military duty in the US Coast Guard and served until 1997.
