Campus Tour
A tour of the Nova Southeastern University college campus is an architectural and intellectual feast, with cutting-edge research and learning facilities at every turn. Encompassing 300 acres on the western edge of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, NSU is the modern-day embodiment of Thomas Jefferson’s vision of a university as society’s intellectual and cultural hub.
At the heart of it all is the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center — situated between a sparkling lake and wide-open green spaces, which serve as an ideal backdrop for the numerous open-air festivals that take place on campus throughout the year.
The library is flanked on one side by the university’s innovative H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship and the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences and on the other by the breathtaking new Don Taft University Center, our state-of-the-art, multipurpose sports and recreation complex. Just steps away, you’ll find the Shepard Broad Law Center and the Maltz Building, housing the Center for Psychological Studies and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Across campus, you’ll discover NSU’s Health Professions Division, which is home to the university’s colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Dental Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, Allied Heath and Nursing, and more, as well as medical and dental clinics that serve the neighboring community.
NSU is also home to University School, a PreK-12 college preparatory school, and the Jim & Jan Moran Family Center Village, which houses the Mailman Segal Center for Human Development.
But NSU isn’t all work and no play. In addition to an array of on-campus housing options, the tour will stop by athletic fields for both intramural competition and our own NCAA Division II Sharks teams.
The University is also home to the Miami Dolphins, whose headquarters and training camp are located right on campus. Just look for “The Bubble,” a two-acre, inflatable dome housing one of the team’s three practice fields.
And while not located directly on campus, the campus tour wouldn’t be complete without a mention of two other NSU showcases: The Oceanographic Center, which sits on 10 acres of Atlantic oceanfront and serves as home to the acclaimed National Coral Reef Institute and the Guy Harvey Research Institute; and the Fischler School of Education and Human Services in North Miami Beach, which continues to enjoy a national reputation for the quality of its education programs.
As a leader in technology and innovation, Nova Southeastern University has been named one of America’s Top 20 Cyber Universities by Forbes magazine. Wireless access and computer microlabs throughout the campus make it possible to connect to the world from virtually anywhere.
