Introduction

All proposals should include an introduction which needs to be no more than a paragraph or two. The introduction is a brief summary of the problem, the proposed solution, and the qualifications of the Principal Investigator/Project Director and the institution. The proposed solution statement should be stated in terms of the expected outcomes (e.g., how the target population will benefit from the project, or what the scientific/scholarly community will learn from the research).
