Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I locate funding for my project?

Funding can be identified through a variety of web resources. Please visit OGC's website to review a listing of current funding opportunities.

2. Who shall I contact for assistance with my proposal?

Each college/center is assigned a designated pre award grant officer in the OGC. Please click here to identify your pre award grant officer.

3. What happens if I can not attend a technical assistance workshop?

All efforts should be made by the Principal Investigator/Project Director to attend mandatory workshops. If he/she is unavailable to attend, arrangements should be made with your pre award grant officer well in advance to attend in your place. Also, it may also be a good idea to have a colleague who will be working on the project or who is familiar with the scope of work to attend for any technical questions that you might have.

4. Does OGC subscribe to the Foundation Center Online Database?

Yes. The Office of Grants and Contracts has a paid subscription for the Foundation Online Database. Because the subscription is only for use by OGC staff, access cannot be provided. However, you may utilize this database free of charge at NSU's Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Technology Center. This database is located on the second floor in the Foundation and Grants Collection. Please visit the library's website for further information.

5. When shall I start researching funding opportunities for my project?

As soon as possible. It is never too early to start.
