Research Work Description:
My primary work for NCRI is the laboratory-based component of the Broward County Beach Renourishment Project, utilizing histological methods to assess response and tissue condition of scleractinian corals exposed to sedimentation.

My research for NCRI is focused on the use of electron microscopy (TEM & SEM), genetic and enzymatic biomarkers, and histopathology to investigate scleractinian coral response to a variety of stressors.

Academic areas of interest:
Coral ultrastructure, coral mariculture, coral reef ecology, coral biology/physiology, and coral reef conservation.
