- Research Work Description:
-
I work primarily on processing data to resolve benthic character over coral reef environments and analyzing map products to
better understand spatial relationships between reef habitats. Another aspect of my work involves comparing ancient
depositional settings with modern reef platforms to quantify parameters that describe the horizontal and vertical extent of
geological facies.
- Title of thesis/dissertation research project:
- Analyzing spatial patterns in reefscape ecology via satellite remote sensing, benthic habitat mapping, and
morphometrics
Thesis Advisor: Dr. Samuel Purkis
- Academic areas of interest:
- Marine and estuarine ecology, natural resource management, coastal processes, environmental science, conservation and
habitat restoration, public outreach, integrating science with management decisions, remote sensing, GIS and geo-spatial
analysis, benthic habitat mapping
