APPLY ONLINE

You can submit your application (and check on its progress) using an online program called WebStar.  The first step is to create an account for yourself in WebStar.  The second step is to fill in and complete the on-line application form. The third step is to email Twyla Herrington and/or Missy Dore at the email addresses given below to let us know that you have submitted your application, and for what program, so that we can make sure it gets through the system smoothly.

Step One: Create an account for yourself in WebStar

TIPS ON ACCOUNT CREATION:

You will be asked to create a Login ID and a PIN number.  Please keep a record of these for your future use. The Login ID can be alphabetical, numeric or a blend of letters and numbers.  There is no set limitation on the length of your Login ID.  Choose something you will be able to remember, but that couldn’t easily be guessed by others. The PIN has to be six digits (numbers).

Step Two: Complete and submit the on-line Application Form:

TIPS ON COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION:

Once you begin to complete your Admissions Application, you will be asked to choose from two options.
For all Oceanographic Center based courses, please choose “Graduate/Professional Programs”.

You will be taken to a new page and asked to select a college.  Please click on “Oceanographic Center”.

You will then be taken to another new page with a drop-down menu and asked to choose an application type.

If you are applying for a Graduate Certificate, please choose it and then select Coastal Studies or Marine and Coastal Climate Change.
If you are applying for the MS degree in Marine Biology, Coastal Zone Management, or Marine Environmental Science, please choose Oceanography (MS).
If you are applying for the Ph.D. degree in Oceanography, please choose Oceanography (Ph.D.).
For all other applications (e.g., general interest, to take individual courses, or for teacher recertification), please choose Oceanography (non-degree).

The rest of the application process should be straightforward – please note that you can stop and continue your application at a later date if you wish.

Step Three: Get in touch with Twyla and/or Missy (see below) by email to let us know your application has been submitted.
