Dear Florida COOS Caucus Participants:
Please join me at the Seventh Florida COOS Caucus meeting (FCC7 at FSU) that is being hosted by Florida State University
Department of Oceanography. FCC7 at FSU is scheduled for Monday, September 18, 2006 and will begin at 9:30 AM and conclude at
4:15 PM. I know you will find the meeting useful and educational as we discuss what is in Florida's best COOS interests and
debate future activities.
The FCC7 at FSU is being held at Florida's Cabinet Meeting Room of the Capital Building, Tallahassee, Florida. The Cabinet
Meeting Room can be found in the Lower Lobby of the Florida Capitol at LL03. The Capitol Security guards at the entry doors of
the Capitol will be able to guide you to the meeting location once you enter the building.
The Florida Capitol (a 22-story, very modern building that houses the Governor's Office, the Florida Legislative Chambers and
offices, and offices for many other state officials locations) is but a short walking distance from the Kleman Plaza Downtown
Parking facilities (one block or so). If you stay at the Doubletree Hotel, you can comfortably walk to the Capitol Building
(three blocks or so) and leave your car parked at the hotel garage. The best parking opportunities can be found at the
Downtown Parking facilities located beneath the Kleman Plaza at 306 South Duval Street.
FCC7 at FSU will start promptly at 9:30 AM, so you might want to schedule your arrival at Florida's Capitol Building for 9:00
AM. There is a public cafeteria down the hall from the Cabinet Meeting Room for coffee and breakfast if you come early enough.
When you sign-in as a participant outside the Cabinet Meeting Room, the FSU registration staff will be able to point you to the
cafeteria, bathrooms, and public phones in the vicinity. A seafood luncheon at mid-day will be an elevator ride away on the
22nd Floor (and on a clear day, you can see Georgia).

Start out going EAST on CAPITAL CIR SW / FL-263 toward S LAKE BRADFORD RD
/ CR-2205. (1.6 miles)
Turn LEFT onto SPRINGHILL RD / FL-373. (2.1 miles)
SPRINGHILL RD / FL-373 becomes LAKE BRADFORD RD / FL-371. (1.1 miles)
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto W GAINES ST / CR-1555. (1.1 miles)
Turn LEFT onto S DUVAL ST. (0.2 miles)
Turn LEFT into parking garage. End at Kleman Plaza, S Duval St, Tallahassee, FL 32301
The Capitol is the large building with the dolphin fountain in front of it that you pass on
your right before you get to Kleman Plaza.
