Original Invitation to attend FCC4
January 3, 2006
Dear Florida COOS Caucus Meeting Attendee,
Please reserve January 13, 2006 to attend the Fourth Florida Coastal Ocean Observing System (COOS) Caucus meeting (FCC4),
10AM-4PM, in Ft Pierce at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution (HBOI). The meeting is hosted by HBOI President and CEO
Dr. Shirley Pomponi and co-convened by Mote Executive Director Dr. Kumar Mahadevan and FIT DMES Department Chair Dr. George
Maul. Tom Gustafson of NSU will be facilitating.
The purpose of the FCC4 is a town-hall gathering to gain information, discuss common Florida ocean issues and concerns, and
build upon our three previous successful FCC meetings.
A simple agenda is attached. Later, we will provide additional information, a more detailed agenda, map, and the latest draft
Florida COOS proposal (as developed through institutional participants from UM, NSU, USF, HBOI, MML, FIT, FSU, FAU, & UF). The
majority of time at FCC4 will be used to discuss this draft in breakout sessions managed by Deans Brown, Betzer, and Dodge.
So that we can better plan this informative meeting, PLEASE RSVP to me: cadrienn@nova.edu.
For background information about previous meetings, minutes, and PowerPoint presentations, please visit the Florida COOS Caucus
WEB site, www.nova.edu/ocean/flcoos/.
We look forward to seeing you at HBOI on January 13, 2006.
(PLEASE FORWARD THIS INVITATION INFORMATION TO ANYONE YOU FEEL MAY BE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING.)
Sincerely,
Adrienne Carter on behalf of HBOI President and CEO Dr. Shirley Pomponi
